Why use PDFNest?
Your file stays on your machine
18 of 19 tools parse and rewrite the document in-browser with JavaScript. Verify it yourself by watching the network tab.
No account, ever
No sign-up, no email, no trial that expires. Open a tool and use it.
No daily caps
No task limits and no watermarks, because browser-side tools cost us nothing per run.
Layout is actually preserved
Word to PDF is rendered by LibreOffice, so pagination and fonts match what Word itself prints.
Works on your phone
Every tool runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install and nothing to configure.
Real table detection
PDF to Word reads character positions and vector ruling lines, so bordered tables come out as real Word tables.
Frequently asked questions
- Is PDFNest really free?
- Yes. Every tool is free with no daily cap, no file size limit on browser-based tools, and no account required. There is no paid tier that unlocks the basics.
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- For 18 of the 19 tools, no — they run locally in your browser, so your documents are never transmitted. Word to PDF is the exception: it is rendered by LibreOffice on our server to keep Word's pagination, and the file is deleted as soon as the PDF is produced.
- Is there a file size limit?
- The browser-based tools have no ceiling beyond your own device memory. Word to PDF accepts files up to 40 MB, because the conversion engine needs memory headroom.
- How is PDF to Word different from other converters?
- It reads the raw PDF stream to recover character coordinates, bounding boxes, embedded fonts and vector table borders, then rebuilds paragraphs, headings and bordered tables as real Word structures — rather than dumping plain text into a document.
- Will my output have a watermark or injected metadata?
- No. PDFNest never adds a watermark, a trial stamp, or metadata beyond what the file format itself requires.
- Do you need my files for any purpose?
- No. Files processed in your browser are never transmitted. Files sent to the Word to PDF converter exist only in memory and in a temporary directory that is deleted immediately after conversion.

What is PDFNest?

Are my files uploaded to a server?
For 18 of the 19 tools, no. PDFNest processes those files locally in your browser using JavaScript, so your documents are never transmitted. Word to PDF is the one exception: it is rendered by LibreOffice on our server to keep Word's pagination, and the file is deleted immediately afterwards.
How does PDF to Word keep tables and formatting?
It parses the raw PDF stream to recover character coordinates, font sizes and vector ruling lines, then rebuilds paragraphs, headings and bordered tables as native Word structures rather than as loose text.
