Privacy Policy

The short version

Your documents are processed privately. Every merge, split, compress, watermark, protect, OCR and PDF to Word tool on PDFNest runs entirely inside your web browser, using JavaScript — the file never leaves your machine. The single exception is Word to PDF: matching Word's own page breaks requires a real document layout engine, so that one tool sends your .docx to our server, renders it with LibreOffice, and immediately deletes it. We do not view, keep or reuse any uploaded file, and nothing is written to disk beyond the seconds the conversion takes.

Information we do collect

We collect a limited set of anonymous, aggregate analytics to understand how the site is used and to improve it:

• Pages visited and general navigation flow (not tied to your identity)
• Approximate country/region (derived from IP address, which is not stored)
• Device and browser type, for compatibility testing
• Aggregate counts of which tools are used, without any information about the files themselves

We use a privacy-respecting analytics provider that does not use tracking cookies or build cross-site advertising profiles.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for basic site functionality (such as remembering your dark/light theme preference). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies beyond what is required to serve the light, non-intrusive ads that keep PDFNest free.

Advertising

PDFNest is free to use, supported by minimal advertising displayed outside the tool interface. Ad partners may use cookies to serve relevant ads; you can control ad personalization through your browser settings or ad-network opt-out tools.

Children's privacy

PDFNest is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
